History of the Border Patrol

The Border Patrol has had a history of over 80 years in America. Originally horse riding watchmen in the United States immigrations service had patrolled the borders when it was necessary for security as early as 1908. In 1915 Congress appointed a separate group of border guards. Some of which drove cars. The Border Patrol really started during prohibition, and thats the basic beginning of the border patrol.

How to get Hired into the border patrol.

First to get into the border patrol you must sign up at the website for the border patrol http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/home.xml You must then schedule for the test. The website suggest you review the study guides provided before attempting the test.

The test takes 4 and a half hours to complete on average and contains 3 sections. Logic and reasoning, Spanish language, and an assessment of your work experience.

After 4 to 6 weeks you will receive your test results in the mail. If you pass you will have an interview. You must also pass psychical tests, drug tests, and a background investigation.

After all that your name will be put on a list and when a position is needed you will be made an offer.
